Behind the Scenes: My Writing Journey
From Idea to Page: How I Create Stories for Children

Introduction:
Every book has a story behind the story. Today, I’d love to share a glimpse into my writing journey and how I bring my characters and adventures to life.
Where Inspiration Comes From:
For me, inspiration often starts with a small spark—a question, a memory, or even an everyday moment. The Bubbly Baby Bumblebee was inspired by watching bees buzz around my garden, and Ladybug Ladybug 1-2-3 came to life after seeing a child count ladybugs on a leaf.
The Creative Process:
Brainstorming: I start by jotting down ideas, sketching characters, and imagining the journey they’ll take.
Drafting the Story: The first draft is all about letting the words flow. I write with the curiosity and wonder of my young readers in mind.
Illustration Collaboration: I work closely with talented illustrators to ensure the visuals capture the heart of the story. Seeing the characters come to life on the page is always magical!
Editing and Polishing: Each story goes through several rounds of refinement to ensure it’s just right for little readers.
Challenges and Joys of Writing for Children:
Writing for children is a special kind of magic—it’s both challenging and deeply rewarding. The challenge lies in crafting a story that’s simple yet meaningful, entertaining yet educational. The joy comes when a child smiles or learns something new from the pages of my books.
A Sneak Peek at What’s Next:
I’m always dreaming up new ideas for stories that inspire kindness, curiosity, and fun. Stay tuned for my next adventure—it’s going to be an exciting one!
Closing:
Writing children’s books is more than a job—it’s my passion. I hope my stories bring as much joy to your family as they’ve brought to mine. Thank you for being part of this journey!
